"Taken refuge"? If people are being "displaced" into the US, then how are they getting here? Are they here illegally? Are we granting special immigration status for people claiming to be fleeing mob violence in Mexico?.
Yes; we absolutely are granting refugee status, temporary status, and parole status to just about everyone who has the savvy to apply for it.
