FRESNO, Calif. -- Federal investigators are examining complaints of discrimination and poor management at the Fresno offices of the U.S. Census Bureau.

Andrew House, spokesman for Visalia Congressman Devin Nunes, confirms there is an investigation by the Commerce Department's s Office of Inspector General.

Employee complaints led to the investigation.

Fired James Braun and Robin Walker, who are white, are among those who filed complaints saying Hispanic supervisors routinely gave Hispanic census workers favorable assignments. Braun and Walker say they were fired after filing civil rights complaints
