I can't wait to read the story behind this one. If I ever get to that is. I say that because to read the record, there actually has to be one first. If the prosecutors cut a deal early, which is quite often it seems, the subjects get a fine, probation, and in some cases a few days in jail, then that's all there is in the record. The initial charging statutes, the hearing info, and the sentence. Works out well for the system....not so good for us. They hold the threat of deportation over their heads as leverage to obtain a minor conviction, and the subject is released to work illegally or collect whatever benefits the taxpayer is shelling out for.
That's what our system has become. A system of threats.
