From the City Hall Event
Everything went as planned today. The deployment was on time, and the flagpole was erected without any problems. Because city hall was closed for MLK day yesterday, there was quite a bit of foot traffic through there today. Lots of people checked out the display, but aside from doing the prayer and the protest at 12 and 12:30 respectively, I stayed back and let people just visit by themselves. There was no hostility at all, from anyone. The Univision reporter showed up with the cameraman, but didn't want to speak with me. I know he doesn't care for me at all, and I believe it might be related to our mex consulate protest a few years ago where Report and Deport stood on top of the mexican flag, and the univision guy took offense. No harm....
Also got a call from the Capitol Weekly,who wanted info on the upcoming capitol event. It was a long day for me, but not that difficult. Here are some photos, but I doubt I'll get video up tonight:

I forgot to mention that we couldn't have had a much better spot. The city employees and some citizens are traveling between the two building all day long. Also, just a few feet from where everyone pays their parking tickees, and there were a couple huundred or more of those today.

The second event went ok too. I deployed the flagpole around 7:45 am, but had to park a little fartther away today. I dollied the stuff over, and then assembled it.
The wind was blowing just enough to make the flag fly for us, and it looked pretty smart for us. I watched from afar afterwards, and saw numerous people stop and read it. I did get a few comments, and all were good. One mexican fellow rode his bike past, and then looked at me and said "la migra", and I said Hell yes!. I conducted the prayer as people walked past, and they didn't look at me like I was crazy or anything. Then I read a protest script, and retreated to the sidewalks again. Later, the wind came up pretty strong, and it blew the panels off. I got there just in time to chase the blue cloth with white stars as it blew into traffic. after that, I walked around for another hour, and at 4:15 I observed that the wind got stronger and was stressing and bending the flag pole too much for my comfort. So I took it down about a half hour early today, but again, we had a good run
