Swain can say politically incorrect things because she's black and to some extent is immune from the slings and arrows that would otherwise be launched against her.
I read Obama's "Dreams From My Father" and he tells about how his white mother was concerned that he was falling behind when they were living in Indonesia. She awakened him at 4:00 am each morning, fed him breakfast and then tutored him in English and other subjects for three hours.
Later in life while doing "community organizing" in the black community in Chicago, he tells the usual tales of woe about "underfunded" schools, single mothers, blah, blah, blah....
HE NEVER ADVISES BLACK SINGLE MOTHERS TO TURN OFF THE TELEVISION SET AND WORK WITH THEIR CHILDREN THE WAY HIS WHITE MOTHER WORKED WITH HIM!
