Did you notice that SOS was not mentioned once. But some of the Minutemen organizations are. This has happened over and over again since this rally.

You will also notice that the true amount of support for Bob Kellar is not mentioned, and it was huge. Going through the article take notice on how many sentences are slanted toward the negative in regards to Kellar. The media never mentions the huge percentage of pro Kellar and the large number of speakers who demanded that illegal immigration be addressed today and by that city council.

All the city council could do was say at the end, that their hand were tied and it was a federal issue.

Again not one mention of SOS, but others are mentioned.

Supporters turn out for Santa Clarita councilman who called himself 'proud racist'
January 27, 2010 | 10:55 am
Supporters of a Santa Clarita councilman who called himself a “proud racist” at a recent anti-immigration rally packed the city’s council chambers to praise him for speaking out on an issue many residents find frustrating.
A few opponents called on the councilman Tuesday night to apologize for his comments, but no action was taken. The remarks made by Bob Kellar, a veteran councilman who has twice served as the city’s mayor, set off a firestorm after some residents accused Kellar of using his position to spread divisiveness and hatred.
Some out-of-area activists vented their frustration outside City Hall before the meeting. They lambasted Kellar and claimed he had violated the city’s code of ethics -- an allegation that the city’s attorney said was unfounded.
But most of the overflow crowd that attended Tuesday’s four-hour council session praised Kellar as a “caring and compassionate leader,” “a patriot” and a “proud American.”
At a Jan. 16 anti-immigration rally in Santa Clarita, Kellar referred to a statement made by President Theodore Roosevelt, noting that the United States has a place for only one flag and one language. Kellar said those remarks caused some people to accuse him of being racist, to which he replied that if believing in America causes people to believe that he is racist, “then I’m a proud racist.”
Roger Gitlin, founder of the Santa Clarita Valley Independent Minutemen, who had helped organized the anti-immigration rally, defended Kellar’s remarks as “rhetorical hyperbole.”
“He got a little ahead of himself in words,” Gitlin said. “But in no shape or form is Bob Kellar a racist....He is tired of political correctness. Nobody hates anybody. We just want the rule of law.”
A U.S. Army veteran who served 25 years with the Los Angeles Police Department, Kellar told attendees at Tuesday’s meeting that he was a proud American who was critical of the failure of the federal government to tackle illegal immigration, which burdens the nation.
“Illegal immigration is a problem for all Americans, and we need to do our part to address it,” Kellar said. “If we are to remain a nation of laws, we must respect those laws.”
But opponents called Kellar’s remarks “disgraceful” and called on the councilman to at least issue an apology.
“This kind of language is divisive and harmful to our community,” said Harrison Katz, a candidate in this April’s election for City Council.

Again, the rally is identified as a Minuteman rally, no mention of SOS.

UPDATED: Kellar backers pack City Hall; no action taken
Council adjourns after more than 3 hours of public comment

POSTED Jan. 26, 2010 9:55 p.m.

Tuesday, 9:55:
George Thomas of Route 66 was the last to speak, in favor of Councilman Kellar, who broke procedure to make a brief statement thanking those who turned out to support him. They applauded for approximately 30 seconds.

Mayor Laurene Weste then asked City Attorney Carl Newton to review laws relating to illegal immigration and how those laws are enforced locally.

Newton also said Kellar had every legal right to express his personal views at the rally.

Councilwoman Laurie Ender said she had initially expressed shock that Kellar had called himself a racist because she knew he was not racist.

Councilwoman McLean said Kellar's choice of words was not good, and that she did not support illegal anything.

Councilman Frank Ferry said he was against illegal immigration, but he didn't want it to be a racist issue.

Mayor Laurene Weste said the issue is not racism, it's the rule of law. She congratulated the speakers for keeping things civil, and assured the public that the city would continue to seek what she called "equitable solutions."

There was no further discussion, and Weste adjourned the meeting at 9:49 p.m.

Check tomorrow's edition of The Signal for more coverage.

Tuesday, 9:15 p.m.:
After taking care of agenda business including voting 5-0 to OK plans for a medical center in Canyon Country, the Santa Clarita City Council opened its meeting to pubic comment.

More than two dozen members of the community weighed in on Councilman Bob Kellar's remarks at the Jan. 16 anti-illegal immigration rally at the Civic Center.

Most of the speakers supported Kellar as a pillar of the community and thanked him for bringing attention to the illegal immigration issue.

Several speakers thought Kellar should apologize.

Tuesday 6:20 p.m.:
It's standing room only at City Hall as more than 200 people have gathered to address Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar's fiery comments about illegal immigration.

When Kellar walked into the council chambers, about half of the audience gave a standing ovation while the rest remained seated and quiet.

Public comment has not begun yet. A verbal clash between protesters occurred before the meeting.

Tuesday 5:45 p.m.:
Crowds of protesters have gathered outside City Hall following Santa Clarita City Councilman Bob Kellar's controversial remarks about race and illegal immigration at a recent Minuteman rally.

Supporters and opponents of Kellar are expected to storm tonight's City Council meeting to address the City Council.

About 10 deputies are at City Hall, but as of 5:45 p.m. there have been no incidents so far, said Lt. Tom Bryski of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

Check back here for updates tonight and tomorrow's edition of The Signal for full coverage.

I posted a very short comment on the sac bee's story about this, and they removed it shortly after. Here's what it was.

Quote:
Our group, Save Our State, hosted this event. One member particularly worked hard on the project to draw in a racially inclusive crowd that stood for secure borders and enforcement of immigration laws. The Shaw family, black, father of a teen killed by an illegal alien, also made similar comments to Kellars on video, and the bogus news wouldn't cover his. We had hispanics and asians too. You can see more on this at:
http://www.saveourstate.info/
We are chaptered as a 501c3, and our rules do not permit us to associate with racially exclusive or racially specific groups or individuals. Kellar and the Shaws have not practiced that, and the news media has twisted the commentary as usual

Thanks for posting even if they did take it down. We should never miss an opportunity to stab them (the press).

Sad to say but I know next to nothing about a computer but there are times when I know something is going on, or at least I think I do.
