Those seem pretty good. A tripod always helps.

It is not necessary to frame the entire body of the speaker. Maybe start with the whole body and then slowly zoom into the face. This might also help the exposure which will be based more on the face rather than the surrounding sky in the back. Always use the slowest possible zoom, that is the most typical. Keep the speaker centered, but make adjustments extremely slowly. Watch television sometime and you will see, anywhere the camera focuses on a speaker, these slow subtle adjustments. That's what the photographer should be trying to do as well.
