Default For Sale: Government Sponsored Business

The new form of business enterprises, and I use that term rather loosely, are those springing up in place of what used to be the heart of American inventiveness and ingenuity, but now center around government dictated and supported social programs. Whether aimed at ecological or socio-economic targets, they still share the same wallet; the US taxpayer. Government mandates, in both round-about and direct manners are replacing free enterprise business with the breadcrumbs-only style one would have expected to see in more communistic or socialist states. When I say breadcrumbs only, i am referring to America's middle class, and not the well connected or well heeled who still seem to get the bulk of consideration as far as compensation goes. Anyway, in the retail field we have witnessed the near demise of mom and pop already. Walmart gets their market share, and not through sheer good sense either, but that's a story for another topic. What mom and pop have been offered is to administrate the distribution of the kind of wealth one, once again, have come to expect from a socialist or communistic system. Here is my first example:

Can't compete with predatory pricing? No problem. Congress will make you a business. You distribute their "free" products to their imported customers, although a built in price structure will ensure your serfdom.
