There are certain things about a person's unconcious behavior which may show a suspicion of illegality.
Flip it over. If Congressman Baca were to go to a swap meet wearing his very best "Mexican" attire and behaving in his best "Mexicano" impersonation, the real Mexicans would peg him for being a pocho before he even opened his mouth. Same for all the racist jackasses constituting any "Latino caucus" in any American government employment from municipal dog catcher to president of the United States. So, someone who has an understanding of Mexican and other Latin American cultures would probably have a very good idea of who is likely to be here illegally. And it would indeed involve a certain amount of profiling. The answer? If an LEO with Latin American ancestors (or any other LEO) asks you for "your papers", simply present a valid government issued ID, such as a DRIVER'S LICENSE.
