If the Republicans implode there will be another entity developed to take its place.

The Whigs self destructed by trying to straddle both sides of the slavery fence. The succeeding America party (AKA Know Nothing) was brief in existence, but the Republican party came out of the political ashes to be founded along with Lincoln's presidency.

This is a true story:

Still, the GOP crisis is not so much illegal as legal immigration. Forty million legal immigrants have arrived in recent decades. Some 85 percent come from Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Middle East. Most arrived lacking the academic, language and labor skills to compete for high-paying jobs.

What does government do for them?

Subsidizes their housing and provides free education for their kids from Head Start through K-12, plus food stamps and school lunches, Pell Grants and student loans for college, Medicaid if they are sick, earned income tax credits if they work and 99 weeks of unemployment checks if they lose their job.

These are people who depend upon government.

Why would they vote for a party that is going to cut taxes they do not pay, but take away government benefits they do receive?

When the cash runs out it won't matter whether or not they have a vote.

It's best to pay everything off and grow a garden, maybe bury anything which might serve as currency in mayonnaise jars in the back yard. I think things are going to get much worse before they get better.

Ilbegone, that's what I've been thinking about also.

What happens when the welfare checks are gone.
The cities are going to explode.

Think about it, we're 16 trillion in debt now, another trillion each year in debt with nothing but Obama to stop it. It's full steam ahead and in 2016 the national debt will be at least 20 trillion.

It's easy for me to see the debt crisis coming and the flow of government aid stopping. When the government checks stop arriving I can see those people burning everything in sight.

These are people rioting over forced government austerity measures. In other words people in government jobs are getting laid off and government checks are not being sent. Their government is broke and there is nothing they can do for them ( in terms of a check from the government).

What do many of the Greek people do in this situation?

They riot.

It's sad but if similar austerity measures happen here, the same thing is going to happen, but it might be more violent.
