As I teenager when JFK was shot, I remember Chief Justice Earl Warren coming out and blaming the John Birch Society for that murder. Of course the JBS had nothing to do with it and it's considered questionable that Oswald was even the actual shooter.

I heard this idiot Sheriff blame it on talk radio and TV, obviously referring to Fox. Bear in mind, at this point there is no evidence that the shooter in Tuscon listened to the radio or watched Fox news. Same with Timonty McVeigh. Bill Clinton tried to blame Oklahoma City bombing (an event that saved the Clinton presidency) on Rush Limbaugh. I've never heard any evidence that McVeigh listened to Rush Limbaugh.
Nobody ever talks about the fact that the Unibomber killed people after reading Al Gore's book.
