Assemblyman Perez Seeks To Proclaim Cinco De Mayo Week
We should have predicted this one, but after reading the entire proposed resolution, I don't think I ever would have envisioned the depths of this assemblymans' racial ego. Had I not known otherwise, Mr Perez would have me believing that Latinos could walk on water if they really wanted to, raise a militia capable of defending the righteous, smiting the evil, and apportioning the unequal. What speaks otherwise of course, is the daily proof in mexico that the people of mexico, inherently latino unsurprisingly, haven't been able to check the bloody rampage of the drug cartels, nor dispel the wanton desires of their people to flee for their very lives and futures to the evil nothern neighbor.
What Mr Perez has written is a fairy tale, but then again, his audience is his fellow legislators who have no trouble believing that guns walk themselves into schools and magically start shooting babies and teachers. So I guess we'll see this become a resolution soon. http://leginfo.ca.gov/pub/13-14/bill...ntroduced.html Quote:

Reading all the whereas', incredulous claims and out right compilation of Chicanista fairytales I broke into a grin and thought how appropriate it would be if Assemblyman Perez wore a caped crusader costume (complete with a monogrammed SL front and back for Super Latino and UFW Eagle crime fighter chonies worn on the outside of his tights) while presenting his amusing little offering.
Not only should he wear the caped jammie outfit, but he should be splashing around a bottle of tequila on a stage festooned with booze advertisements and littered with empty beer bottles suggesting the REAL north of the border popular appeal behind a holiday which is barely noticed in Mexico. The grand finale could be Perez stumbling around like the old Lalo Gonzalez bar room scene in an old black and white Mexican flick while drunkenly belting out the Cinco de Mayo theme song: Quote:
I'd love to see a parody of Perez introducing his proclamation like that on Youtube... and how appropriate it would be. The classic (and funny) Lalo Gonzalez and Luis Aguilar black and white clip referred to above with the bar room drinking contest and drunkenly impotent fist fight culminating in Gonzalez singing Borrachera http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZOl91bTPtM
