Neither the long departed Aztecs nor any of the Indian imprint on Mexican culture has anything to do with this example of barbarism. It's a struggle for power between criminals and against a part of government government seeking to exersize power.

Actually it's terrorism run amok beyond the concept of calculated coercion, this is the work of psychopaths.

Money is power, and the drug trade is all about money. In the meantime, I believe Mexico city actually controls little anymore outside of the capitol in reality.

We'll see how it plays out in the next ten years, in the meantime we had best get our military back into the role of defending our borders - as well as crush the drug trade here. Just as in illegal immigration, the problem is domestic demand, with the drama being played out in Mexico.
