You told it wrong.
The key to this joke is lining up a huge long list of typical walking-into-a-bar joke walkers and then after reciting the long list,
then the bartender says, "Is this some kind of joke?" It doesn't even matter what or who is in the list and the longer and more bizarre the list, the better the punch line. The key is to fatigue the listener until the pay-off punch line. And it's not as much fun in print.
