Thinking outside the box.
 

So, First off, let me say that I'd like to see more observe and report actions going on. But, I had this idea ... see, I've gone down to BLM land before to shoot guns, down in imperial county. The illegals run through there on a regular basis, and generally sleep during the daytime.
Now, we of course would not shoot at them, that would be illegal ...
But we did get a kick out of shooting against the rocks and hillsides, doing 500 yard target practice, and the fact that any illegals out there were scared to heck by the noise of high powered bolt actions going off.
So, I was watching this video on youtube,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YqCQ...eature=related and an idea hit me:
why not do black powder cannon shoots / group shoots in areas of public or even private (with owners permission) land that is being used illegally by traffickers? As long as we are obeying the laws, and having a good time, it might be a way to make observe and report trips both more fun, AND more productive, and of course more people will be interested in doing something fun. Just a thought.
