Proposing New Event In Sac
I want to do one more event in Sac using the flagpole. the event would take place on the lawn area in the middle of Capitol Mall, and directly in front of the John Moss Federal building. that's also ICE headquarters, immigration office, customes and more. It's also the road that leads to the state capitol a few blocks ahead, and many people use that from freeway 80 to the government buildings. See google map below
http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&rl...ed=0CBsQ8gEwAA What we would do is set up the flagpole at half mast to honor dead law enforcement at the hands of illegals. A special tribute to Agent Rosas. Then we plant banners that state the numbers of the dead. One for civilians, and two more for LEO and such. So as people drive in, they see: Number of BP officers killed by illegals = then, Number of Local law enforcement Killed by illegals = and then, Number of Americans killed by illegals. the beauty of this is that it would take minimal effort and be viewd by many people throughout the day. This particular area is one that has been used by anti-war protesters last year when they planted several hundred white flags on the lawn. I think the best thing would be to plan it a month ahead, and for just after the legislature re-convenes at the capitol |
I really like this idea!!!!

I'd add some support, but it's pretty idle to offer support from the keyboard when you are actually going out yourself.
Any time anyone hits the streets to conduct some civil protest on behalf of something I support, they have my enthusiasm, you included, Ayatollah. Have you got yourself a shirt yet? ;) |

Well, here's the problem you've got. The concept is fine but the location is remote. For you? No. However, the bulk of SOS attending membership (and related collaborators) is in Southern California. Barring a large infusion of Norcal members, these middle of the week things in the state capitol are going to receive sparse attendance and little interest. There's nothing wrong with Sac.; it's a great town and has wonderful locations to demonstrate, but participation is going to be predictably light. As a matter of demographic reality, we're going to have a lot more bodies for events located south of Santa Barbara. |
