Closing out the year. 11:00 AM EST December 31, 2013.

Speaking for myself, I had a reasonably good year. Health wise I got very good reports from my Doctor. No afflictions of any serious consequence. I feel good. And I am not on medications.

Financially I'm doing OK so far, no bills, no debts and a small surplus of funds at the end of the year.

My investments reported some gains and housing values are reported up 14%.

Family are all healthy and all but one grandson are in good, solid circumstances.

I'm eating well and preparing some really gourmet meals.

Didn't lose any family members.

Politically we elected a Republican county executive who is determined to fix our problems.

On the down side I didn't win the Mega-millions lottery so I told my son to not quit his day job.

Inflation is creeping in big time. Horrendous increases in taxes and health care.

Your friends on the East Coast wish their friends on the West Coast a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year 2014.

Increases everywhere. Food prices, government fees, steel, it's going to be horrendous I think.

Happy new year....(with reservations)

On a side note:
That heart surgery my wife had, just generated a few bills. The mercy hospital system billed the kaiser system $317,000 for the work. We're still seeing bills come through too, one just the other day for a staff surgeon who didn't really participate, but visited her a few times for a few minutes after to check on her. Almost $1,800.00 buckaroos for a few words and jotting down his name on the chart. Kinda like the lawyers do with the "PC to a client" for updating you on your case to tell you there's no updates

Anyway; glad she's still here with me:)

And I'm still glad she's still with us as well.

Best wishes and happy new year.

Happy new year to everyone here!

I hope 2014 will be good to all of us.

Financially, 2013 was somewhat sub par for me, but I did survive without adding too much debt.

I've got some new activities to look forward too.

Most of all let's defeat amnesty in 2014!

I certainly want to interject my sincere concern for your spouse.

I lost mine in 2004. It was a very dismal event as I loved her dearly, My best friend for over 50 years. The life change is very dramatic and dismal. Changes that are absolutely undesirable.

My medical bills were too up in 6 digits.

This segues into Obama Care. Under the new legislature your spouse may be not worth spending money on. A Government appointed flake may be determining the fate of your spouse.

Listen to the latest on Fox News this AM. absolutely shocking.

Eleven *( 11 ) Governors have revolted against Obama care as he has entered into the world of a flaky Banana Republic Dictator deserving/and inviting a Coup de Etat, Golpe.
