I've researched this new Obama Edict and of course have numerous objections to it. But because the issue is being aired quite a bit within our circles, I'm going to point out that which is not widely publicized yet.

The first is, illegals getting this deferred action will also be allowed to waive payment of the fees associated with applying for their work permits. Those that came legally or are not granted the deferred action will STILL HAVE TO PAY the application fee

Filing Fee :
$380

No fee is required if filing for an initial employment authorization document under one of these categories:

Refugee, asylee or paroled as a refugee
N-8 or N-9 Nonimmigrant
Citizen of Micronesia, Marshall Islands, or Palau
Granted Withholding of Deportation or Removal
Dependent of certain foreign government or international organization personnel
Applicant for asylum (applicant filing under special ABC procedures must pay the fee however)

What this means is that if you're in the country temporarily as a wife or relative of a lawful resident or someone with lawful status, or if you enterred legally as a temporary visa holder without work status and you want to apply to work legally...you pay the fee.
If you enterred illegally, and Obama grants you a temporary reprieve from deportation...you get a pass on the fee.

Bottom line: Lawfully present pay, illegal alien doesn't
