View Full Version : Forming A Plan To Counter Obama's Amnesty

Obama issued a memo (strange word derived from the use of a mimeograph reproduction machine in the 1940's) to influence his department heads to practice leniency where illegal alien youth are concerned. None of us really believes this is what he means of course, but in the interim we must procede on that basis. This memo is not an order. It's influence, plain and simple. The heads of these agencies are still sworn to do their jobs, and the last congress wrote the laws that they are supposed to enforce. The agencies involved are not military, so the commander in chief doesn't have the same power or methods in this case.
But this administration is as corrupt and submissive to his will that anything can happen

First off, I'd like to say that Obama is doing this to get more campaign contributions that he feels desperate for obviously, and he's willing to take a big risk here. He's getting a lot more mileage out of the proposal than the recipients of the consideration will get in actuality. They have still to jump through many hoops, and they also risk having this edict overturned by an incoming president or even the court. But it sounds like heaven to an illegal alien, so Obama is like a crooner at present.

Secondly, this could easily backfire on Obama at the ballot box. The illegals he grants work authorization do not get to vote, but all the originally enraged citizens plus a hopefully large majority of recent foxhole converts can. In addition, Obama's waivers and deferred actions run a substantial risk of creating a newsworthy offense (like the 9-11 hijackers or so) just before the big presidential election. Heaven forbid that another trajedy at the hands of illegals happens, but statistically speaking, it very possible. The bad press could drive nails into his political coffin.

So fear not; this recent edict of his was long on promises and short on granting actual amnesty. Way short

We'll be fighting on, and fighting to cripple this promise he made.
