First of all I don't believe the statistics. If, indeed, there was actually any foundation to the alleged farmers losses of profits in the millions, they could well affords to hire transient, temporary migrant workers and bring them in legally.
Second, only 2% of illegal aliens work in agriculture.
Third, there are unlimited visas available for migrants wanting to work in agriculture.
Fourth, the "ag" elements want cheap labor, don't want to pay living wages, benefits and provide the necessary. Americans don't want to live flopped 12 to a room, sleeping on mattresses, be ripped off with pay, work overtime without compensation, live like animal.
Fifth. The allegation that prison labor refused to work on farms flies in the face of the fact that prison labor is now working on farms.

Farmers brought the dilemma on themselves by violating the laws and hiring illegals. *( A study by J.D. Hayworth found in his book illustrated that the major cost of farm produce is not in the labor but in other areas including processing and transporting and that the price of a head of lettuce would increase only five cents if legal workers were hired instead of illegals ).

Traditionally when companies are raided by ICE and illegal aliens are apprehended hundreds of Americans line up for the vacant jobs.

Ms. Baghdad Bob engaged in deception by omission. She avoided mentioning the hundreds of millions of dollars that hospitals provide in emergency room care. Didn't mention the millions of illegal alien kids packing our schools. Failed to mention the millions of aliens working in other industries like meat packing and chicken procession, counterfeit documents, stolen IDs and social security numbers and on and on, ad infinitum.

If someone wants to come here to work:

* Go to the American Consulate, get a visa.
* Have a passport.
* Have an employer/sponsor.
* Have a domicile.
* Have funds.
* Get a drivers license.

The way not to come is sneak in under cover of darkness guided by a pollero. Pay human smugglers to clandestinely transport around all over the USA. Buy counterfeit documents and steal identities. Use a matricula consular. Drive drunk without license, inspection or insurance. freeload, drop anchor babies, shop lift, falsify tax returns, claim dependents.

The cost of airfare to come to the USA from Mexico is only a few hundred dollars. Yet the border jumpers pay coyotes "polleros" $1,500 to $3,000 to be smuggled across then another $1,200 to $1,500 to be packed in vans and smuggled internally. Hundreds of thousands of Mexicans cross the border legally every day at designated entry points yet these illegal aliens refer to sneak in because they want to lie, cheat, steal, game the system.

Ms. Baghdad Bob apparently never read the Federal Customs and Immigration laws and wouldn't care anyway. She just wants to be an apologist for criminal activity and prove that she is a racist and an "idiota".
