The article makes things sound pretty good. It could be a way of blunting criticism away from lack of policing at the interior. The article says that apprehensions are way down, and it suggests that increased BP activity has retarded attempts at the border. But the border is not the only problem, of course. Many are smuggled through at legal checkpoints.

What would really encourage me that something is being done is reports of increased deportation. Nobody who is in this country illegally should ever quit worrying about being seized and thrown out on the slightest pretext. Hunt them down and throw them out.

And this is just one border. We also have Asian illegals. Asians are our next worse problem for illegal immigration after South and Central America.
