Basically, they are wanting a class action suit based upon their racial identification as opposed to trying their cases on other merit, or as individuals

A lawsuit filed nine years ago on the behalf of Hispanic farmers from Texas to California alleged the USDA discriminated against Hispanics such as Atayde by refusing them help that was extended to white farmers in similar situations, then neglecting to investigate complaints. A similar suit, filed by black farmers, led to a billion-dollar settlement.

I believe this is a spurious claim - the small family farmer gets equal opportunity shafting every which way by the government, and I can't believe that with the favored minority status of Hispanics that the plight of black farmers was addressed while willfully inflicting negligence on Hispanic farmers.

Being white certainly doesn't favor anyone with the American government anymore.

It's all about Latino "victim hood". The cutting in line. My ow-wee is bigger than your ow-wee, ow-wee envy. The loudest whine is salved with cash and favor.

Hispanic farmers shamelessly exploit illegals just as much as anyone else, and maybe more so. Something about knowing how the culture works. Think the boss works like everyone else? Doesn't work that way in Mexico.
