From The Sacramento Mexican Consulate:

july 15, 2011

No. 011

The Consulate General of Mexico in Sacramento is pleased to announce that in the
context of the worldwide celebration of International Year of Forests in 2011,
decreed by the Organization of the United Nations, as well as the "Tree Day" that
we celebrate in Mexico each year, we will plant a tree in the Consulate General
of Mexico, located at: 2093 Arena Boulevard 95814, on next Monday July 18, 2011,
at 11:00 am; and another one at "Ninos Park" at 705 Northfield Dr., Sacramento
95833 around 12pm.
The aim of this activity is to promote reforestation; social awareness towards environmental
protection; and the promotion of greater public participation in the care and restoration
of forests.
By planting a tree, we want to draw attention of all citizens of the world to enhance
the recovery and conservation efforts towards our forests, as well as to remind
that they are an essential part of global sustainable development.
Do not miss this opportunity to serve as an example of concern and interest in caring
for our planet. Join us with your family in this symbolic act and enjoy the company
of the Mexican community and friends of Mexico.

From The Sacramento Mexican Consulate:It might be more earth friendly and vastly more appropriate if the Mexican Consulate picked up their fellow citizens' trash along the border and elsewhere in the nation rather than pander to hypocritical "environmentalists" by planting a tree.
