Boy, what a fluff piece for illegals and their uppity employers. This article mentions the city and county taxpayer financing "some" of the costs to support their supposedly "migrant" workers, most presumably illegal. What they left out was the state and federal taxpayer support for them in the way of helathcare and other basic needs. These wine growers are particularly angering. They make millions a year, and they mention being willing to ta themselves to the paltry insignificant sum of $10.00 per acre to help support their workers. Why not just pay them enough to get by instead? Or are they convinced also that illegals would still be on the dole regardless of income earned, because the government, la raza, and the non profits encourage them to keep on taking because they are profitting too?

Not everyone likes this shift, and some have denounced Napa’s efforts to help migrant workers.

“A vocal minority has opposed any type of change,” Mulligan said. Indeed, when local newspapers report on migrant workers, they are often flooded online with virulent anti-immigrant comments.

Yet without migrant farm workers, it’s not clear that any Cabernet Sauvignon would ever make it to the glass.
