Rim,
What is so bad about Palin, please point out in detail.

Do you blindly follow what you read in the papers and see on TV? Sounds like it, said with all due respect.

Again please do point out what is wrong with Palin, other than she is not afraid to speak the truth.

Thanks

I am not too much for typing long post but here is my answer to Phil and Iwillwork.
True, this is my first time to hear from Iwillwork so, he/she is New to me.

My opinion of Palin, and I have said this before, she thinks of her self as a smart beauty queen. She is a smart mouth without a brain. She actually thinks she is Presidential Material.

Bachmann is another loud mouth who wants to be Queen and will go to any length to be one. She is another one who would love to see people tearing each other apart.

I see and hear the same things everyone else here does. I make up my own mind about what is said and what fiddle is played by all.

Just have to tell you about a funny I heard a few days ago. Some commentator said Bachmann makes Palin look intelligent.

How could anyone say this woman is not a great image for this country? Huh RIM?

I don't think the Dems do fear her. They're hoping the Republicans put up someone like her who doesn't have much of a track record and would be easy to beat. That's not saying she's not the kind of candidate I'd want, because as you can see from the link I posted to NumbersUSA, she has the best voting record on illegal immigration of any of the major candidates (even if it is only a B-). But she is only a congresswoman after all, and normally the candidate who gets the party's nomination is at least a senator or governor.

If I may interject here. We don't do much censoring here, as we believe most people can defend themselves pretty well. But a little advice is given. Most of us are comrades, or at least should be, and there's no reason to get off on the wrong foot with anyone over politics. RIM is as opposed to illegalism as anyone I've seen, and has stood on the streets with many of us in threatening conditions. I know a little banter is standard on internet forums, but usually that kind of teasing is reserved for people who know each other a little first

This is merely your opinion/perception, nothing to back up your opinion, therefore so much more BS. Plz do provide some facts upon which u base your opinion. Forgive me for saying so but this is the typical bastion of liberals, symbolism over substance. You will have to do better. Standing in threatening conditions, I've had a truck load of drunk illegals try to run me down when I was 13 on a dark country farm road, I've had them stick a knife to my throat when I was 12, I had an adult hispanic male stand on my neck in a public swimming pool and damn near drown! I've had a group of young black males 15 to 20 yrs of age try to stone me to death when I was swimming in the levy at 8yrs old, I've had 6 black males put the boots to me one night at age 9. And you know that was the least of my problems growing up!

I've hated my country most of my life! And recently I have realized I do love my country and will fight for her as though she is my beloved bride! And above said list goes on and on!

And you're right I shouldn't take jabs at users I don't know, but hey she's jabbin' at the only GOP candidate I have that isn't pandering to illegals.

So you just "know what you know" and bother with no reference or factual basis for your opinion. Sorry but that is what got our country to where it is now. You are entitled to your opinions but if you expect them to be taken seriously you must back them up with facts. Otherwise you are pissing in the wind and we all know what happens in that scenario. The comedy of which you speak is exactly what you are doing. So in your own words you should not say a word about Pailin or Bachman. Painted yourself (oh so clearly)in a corner.

As a conservative Republican I like both Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman for their attitudes and political positions. And as an NRA member and hunter I like Sarah's fondness of fishing and hunting.

I suppose I like them because I see the other side of women such as Nancy Pelosi. Maxine Waters, Barbara Boxer and numerous others and thus I am thankful that all women are not alike. To me it's nice to have the females in my camp. conservatives, and liking guns and fishing rods too instead of bleating for amnesty, open borders and bans on guns and hunting.

However, both Sarah and Michelle are way down in the polls and there isn't anything on the horizon, that I can see, that will move either one up to be serious contenders who have a shot at the nomination.

I'm shocked that Ron Paul isn't even mentioned in the polls on Fox news now.

My guy is Mitt Romney. Now that Huckabee and Trump dropped out and Gingrich floundered on the rocks Mitt seems to be in the lead.
Famous former mayor of NYC, Ed Koch, said if a candidate had 12 points and you agree with nine go with him/her. There is no perfect candidate.

As it stands now, Obama may not have a very good chance at re-election for several reasons. Not only his eligibility, which he wont be able to prove to the satisfaction of several states, but also the economy, gas prices, inflation, illegal immigration, foreign policy, and a host of other issues including Obamacare and energy/environment, drilling

There you go, you cannot tell us one thing of substance to support your ad hom attacks on Palin and then to compound the nonsense you personally attack me with childish name calling. You can stick your head in the sand "and know what you know" but that will never provide you with a cogent argument to back up what you say, therefore most thinking people will dismiss your statements for what they are, empty declarations. Your approach is quite simple and a tactic liberals use all the time. Ask a simple yes or no question and they don't answer but instead change the subject and launch a straw man argument. Do you understand the difference of Opinion and fact? I think not, people who blindly follow the main stream media without reviewing the facts are the reason with now have president BO.

Now I know you think Sara and Michelle are babbling and it gets on your nerves, however that sounds like something an overwrought housewife blurts out in a moment of frustration & sheer emotion when she can't control the kids, no thought behind it, just a visceral reaction.

It all comes down to intellect verses emotion. People who base their opinions upon factual substance are those to be taken seriously while the ones basing opinion upon emotion are usually uninformed and very easily dismissed. They are nonetheless still entitled to their opinion just as I am entitled to not take them seriously.

Michelle Bachmann on Illegal Immigration

The United States is a nation founded by immigrants and prides itself on the principles of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Obtaining the “American Dream” is an inherent part of our nation’s spirit and we should encourage those who enter our country legally to achieve it. However, we are also a nation founded on the rule of law and we must ensure U.S. immigration laws are respected and enforced to preserve our national security; protect federal, state, and local budgets; and curb unfair strain on our country’s job markets.

The last time our immigration laws were overhauled was in 1986, when Congress granted amnesty to almost three million illegal immigrants in the U.S. and promised increased border security in the near future. Twenty years later, the number of illegal immigrants in our country has quadrupled, with no end in sight. Rather than repeating the mistakes of our past, I believe Congress must work to secure our nation’s borders and enforce the immigration laws already in place. Once this is achieved, improvements to the current system can be considered.

Those who approach our immigration system legally and work through the established process should be welcomed. However, any proposal for reform must not reward those who choose to break our laws by entering the country illegally.

The reason the government keeps spouting that number is that it is probably close to accurate given that many of the illegals from years prior have been given legal status, ie amnesty. Maybe not citizenship, but legal status to work. I've been harping about this since my early days at SOS, and I know people don't want to hear it, but it's true. They are, and have been legalizing a big portion of the illegal entrants every year, but we have new ones that take their place. Now if you added the amnestied ones into the numbers since 2003 or 2004, you'd probably have 20 to 25 million illegals. I think RIM's estiate would be accurate if you added the sum of the illegals + the amnestied over 6 years + the generous work visas the government doles out + the tourist and other non work visas that work anyway or do not.

Interesting. How are those illegals who get amnesty or legal status able to do so?

The government just does it. I've relayed personally known cases in regards to that....my former employees...their relatives....some of their friends....they all got legal status despite illegal entry

Don't they at least have to apply for it?

At the time they were discovered to have been living and working here illegally, they did. some did after that. The point being, amnesty is already a reality and has been for years.

Palin shot a lone wolf from a helicopter, I could never vote for her just for that reason! And the whole "Going Rouge!" is kinda hokie too! But the lone wolf killed it for me!

Michelle Bachmann raised 5 kids of her own and 28 foster kids! She can definitely multi task! She's a tax attorney so she can stop all these tax exempt organizations from receiving federal and state funds. And she may have done a couple of stupid things, but come on our President now and many in the past are complete dumbasses! She has a B- at numbersUSA and I believe with your help we can bring her grade up!

I'd really like Herman Cain to win, for my own selfish reasons! Ron Paul is a good man he just lost me when he said "It's impossible to deport 12million illegal immigrants!" (jaw drop) it's not impossible! It's as easy to deport as it is easy for them to get in here!

No wonder they keep coming if they have so little to lose. I had no idea.

"They [the government] are, and have been legalizing a big portion of the illegal entrants every year ..." I'd need to see more details on how this occurs before I believed that.

It is better to over estimate the number of illegals then it is underestimate. And let us not forget that illegal immigration could not exist if it were not for the efforts of those who are here legally and also for those who are naturalized citizens. So it is non-citizens in this country that are the basical problem and this number needs to go down. The number needs to be decreased through massive deportation through increasing criminalization of activities by both illegals and legals, that is the only way, and unless we stand for that, amnesty is the only other solution.

By Joe Kovacs

Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is surging far ahead of her Republican rivals in the race for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, according to a new Zogby poll.

The U.S. representative from Minnesota, who led among announced candidates in a June 21 poll, has now added 10 percentage points to her previous mark, and now stands at 34 percent.

That's a 19-point lead over second place Herman Cain, who stayed the same at 15 percent support.

Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney came in third place, but dropped a point to 14 percent, and U.S. Rep. Ron Paul of Texas dropped two percentage points to 11 percent, coming in fourth place.

They were followed by Rick Santorum at 7 percent, Tim Pawlenty and Jon Huntsman at 4 percent, and Newt Gingrich at 2 percent.

While Bachmann's support is growing, she could face trouble if some other well-known names jump into the race.

Zogby also asked for whom would Republicans vote in a primary if Texas Gov. Rick Perry, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin were candidates.

In that hypothetical scenario, Perry finished first with 18 percent, Christie second with 17 percent, Bachmann third at 15 percent, Paul fourth at 10 percent, Palin fifth at 9 percent, and Cain and Romney tied for sixth with 8 percent each.

Four Republicans (Christie, Romney, Bachmann and Pawlenty) were each in a statistical tie with President Obama when matched up against him. All other GOP contenders trail Obama.

Zogby also asked for which candidates would you never vote, and Gingrich topped the list at 46 percent, followed by Huntsman at 43 percent and Paul at 38 percent, as voters could opt for more than one choice.

The poll also asked, "Regardless of whom you intend to vote for, who do you think will get the nomination?"

Romney led the pack at 37 percent, followed by Perry at 17 percent and Bachmann at 10 percent.

The online survey of 1,042 likely Republican primary voters was taken June 28-30, and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Do you have a link which shows that? I can't believe he would say it was that high.

50 million would be a bit high. That would mean one in six people in this country is an illegal. This is the number I trust: http://www.immigrationcounters.com/

When I am out and about or watching the public on TV, I think it could be close to one in four.

I don't think Bachmann raised the kids on her own. I think she is married.
How do you think 'we' can help bring her grade up? That is something she needs to do.
When a politician gets in office they do what ever they can get away with.

I heard Ron Paul one day say, "We should legalize pot, cocaine" and so many other drugs than I cannot remember all of them. He wants to remove all restrictions on drugs.

I will never vote for anyone who wants to leaglize drugs. Next thing they will lower the age to use to maybe 16.

That's because you're in Southern California. There are parts of the country where it's less than one in fifty.
