More than 50 Anti-Amnesty tea party rallies were held across the nation this weekend. The events were put together by Americans for Legal Immigration (ALIPAC), but NumbersUSA played a role in the events held in Alexandria, Va. and Pasadena, Calif.

High unemployment rates, overpopulation, and declining public services motivated grassroots activists to attend one of the many tea parties. While not drawing huge crowds, the events were planned on short notice, and could point towards a growing movement.

Several hundred turned out for the event in the border city of San Diego that's consistently in the crossfire of the illegal immigration issue. Just a two months ago, three vans crashed the border trying to smuggle people across the border illegally. Protesters in San Diego said Saturday's protest was only the beginning.

"It is not fair for those in power to give our country away to illegal immigrants," said a San Diego attendee. "This is my first rally and it looks like Iíll have to attend many more to make sure this travesty doesnít come true."

In Alexandria, protesters stood outside of Rep. Jim Moran's (D-Va.) district office, fighting against any amnesty plans from Congress.

"If the situation continues as it is, we are powerless unless we speak out like this," an attendee said. "Cut off the funds and maybe they will go home."

Hundreds turned out at a rally in the embattled city of Phoenix where American Citizens United helped organize the event.

"We need to have borders, secure borders. We cannot give amnesty, because once you say amnesty, they keep coming more and more," said Anna Gaines from ACU.

Well that article was encouraging. Yes, this is just the beginning. Americans have been lulled into a trance with all the political crap and health care. While the open borders crowd have been getting in place. This is no coincidence. They are planing on hitting us hard in the next few months and we had better be prepared.

Time to get our duck in a row people.

Ducks in a row. My ducks have had ducks. This is going to be a fight, but it's way past time. Most of us have been just waiting for the right time.

You are absolutely right. This situation has been smoldering for years and now it's going to burst into flame.

You are absolutely right. This situation has been smoldering for years and now it's going to burst into flame.Well maybe for you and I, but for many it has been taken off their radar. Many have gone to sleep on this issue. Three years ago the public was furious about the illegals and their marching in our streets carrying foreign flags demanding everything. The American public have very short memories. If they let a week pass they forget and go on the the medias flavor of the day. Also the economy, jobs and health care have taken front stage. The poor economy helps in some ways and may hurt our cause in others, but we need to bring this cause back to the forefront. We need boots on the ground and a visual presence.

In the next few days we will be announcing some activism here in So Cal that we are working on.

It never has died, but when we've had all of these arguments amongst each other and egos super large it burnt many of us out. We must stay united and finish this fight. Many of us have stood in the back ground and done things at a local level and along our daily lives. Actually, I've gotten real bad, loud, etc.
