US Citizens Warned To Avoid Border Region

A couple of days ago I received a number of e-mails that contained the photo shown here. If this sign was actually posted, it sent a clear message – our government was ceding a swath of land in our country to Mexican thugs and drug traffickers, and possibly other criminals from other nations.
However, even as I was attempting to verify the authenticity of the signs I was sent a number of follow up e-mails with a link to a Fox News segment about those signs. Clearly those signs have really been posted!
New Fed. Govt. signs posted all along I-8, 80 miles north of the Mexican Border. Here is a video link to the Fox News report that was televised about those signs.
We have heard much about the lawless border region that separates Pakistan from Afghanistan. However, the idea that the federal government of the United States of America has announced it is willing to declare drug trafficking corridors to be “off limits” to citizens of our nation within our nation because of the invasion of foreign criminals who are heavily armed is absolutely insane and not acceptable!
Perhaps for the open borders advocates this is a “sign of the times” but not for this American!
Roughly 8 years ago Michelle Malkin wrote a book entitled “Invasion.” I thought that while the situation was deplorable and serious that she had probably overstated what was happening to our country. I have to concede that Michelle was prescient. I guess her crystal ball was working better than I thought!
My dad used to tell me that I would tell people how they should treat me by the way I reacted to things that were done to me. If you demonstrate weakness you will be presumed to be weak. If you are willing to put up with a lot of “guff” then you should expect to be dumped on even more!
Succinctly stated, you get one opportunity to make a first impression. Those signs tell it all. If you are a criminal or even a terrorist, if you violate our laws and violate our borders our government will simply provide you with free access to our nation!
Furthermore, if the governor and legislature of states such as Arizona seek to find their own remedies for the failure of the federal government to live up to its obligation – it would appear that federal attorneys will investigate if they can file law suits against such states and municipalities, rather than use those extremely limited resources to root out the drug traffickers, transnational criminals and terrorists! Wow!
During the previous administration, George W. Bush ordered unarmed National Guard troops to be sent to the border to do support work for the Border Patrol. On one occasion, heavily armed intruders confronted unarmed Guardsmen who retreated and were subsequently rewarded for retreating! I appeared on a number of radio and television programs about that outrageous occurrence which took place in January 2007.
When I worked for the INS I was often frustrated by the lack of leadership and commitment of that agency to do the job it was supposed to do – secure our nation’s borders against the illegal entry of aliens who ran our nation’s borders and also to address the myriad other failings to create an immigration system that had real integrity. I had come to initially say that the INS was an agency in a state of free-fall and that bottom was elusive. Over time I came to realize that I had been optimistic. Bottom was not elusive. It was, in fact, illusory – there was no bottom!
In checking out the sign posted by the government of the United States and in viewing the video of the news report about the outrageous situation on the border, I realize that I was absolutely correct- where our borders and immigration law enforcement are concerned- bottom is truly illusory- there is no damn bottom!
Moreover, we all know that the drug traffickers are not simply seeking to run our nation’s borders to set up drug selling stands, the way that children set up lemonade stands on hot summer days! Drug traffickers, members of transnational gangs and terrorists seek to metastasize throughout our nation like a malignant tumor. They have been doing precisely that. Janet Napolitano, the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Surrender has talked about how some 230 American cities throughout our nation are now infested by members of the extremely violent Mexican drug cartels. Should we now expect that the federal government will tell Americans what neighborhoods in each city throughout our nation are going to be declared “off limits?”
Clearly the federal government has all but surrendered to heavily armed thugs who have made running our borders and shepherding tonnage of narcotics into our country a matter of “routine.”
This also means that smugglers can expect to meet little or no resistance when they smuggle aliens into our country even those who may have criminal or terrorist backgrounds.
Certainly smugglers may also be able to smuggle WMD’s as well as drugs into our country.
The fact is that the administration has made it clear that it is resigned to the lack of security of our nation’s borders- and I demand to know “Why?”
I want to know where our government will “draw the line?” (You would think that the border that is supposed to separate the United States from Mexico would be that line – but clearly it is not!)
As I have noted on a number of occasions, “A country without secure borders can no more stand than can a house without walls!”
But this is actually not a new perspective. Politicians who say that we should provide lawful status and official identity documents to unknown millions of illegal aliens (whose true identities, nationalities and backgrounds are unknown and unknowable) with lawful status and official identity documents are also declaring that the solution to dealing with crime is to reward the law violators and make believe all is right with the world!
Several years ago I testified before the New York State Senate about the driver’s license for illegals nonsense. The advocates for that madness had two arguments.
1. They (the illegals) will drive anyway- so if we give them licenses they will drive safer!
2. The presence of the illegal aliens in the United States represents a failing of the federal government and so this is not a local problem.
As best I can recreate my responses-
1. People will violate all sorts of laws, anyway, if you don’t believe it, pay a visit to any jail! Furthermore, if you need some entertainment, read some of the arrest reports- some of those miscreants had to be truly inventive to violate some of the laws they violated!
Additionally, convicted felons will carry firearms, anyway, so if we follow the reasoning about giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens to make them safer drivers, we should therefore provide convicted felons with pistol carry permits. We should take them to the range and have them undergo proper training. If we could improve their accuracy they would be less likely to hit innocent bystanders if we could improve their accuracy! Also, with proper training, perhaps we could get them to use trigger locks when they weren’t out and about doing bank robberies or doing drive-by shootings! Wouldn’t that also improve public safety?

I certainly agree that the presence of God knows how many illegal aliens are in our country represents a huge failing of the federal government to secure our nation’s borders- I have railed about this at hearing after hearing! However, most of the narcotics peddled on street corners throughout our nation also came across those same borders- often, in fact smuggled by the same smugglers who smuggle aliens. Indeed, often illegal aliens are forced to act as “mules” to carry those drugs across the border.
Therefore, I asked, “How many members of the New York State Senate who accept the argument or actually advocate for the argument that since illegal aliens are here because of the failings of the federal government would be willing to vote to end all narcotics investigations conducted on the state or local level?”
You would have thought that a fire drill was being conducted! A whole bunch of those political hypocritical bums (am I being redundant?) got up and walked out!
I really must learn to be more direct in my comments!
The members of the New York State Senate who got up and left realized that they had nowhere to go with their arguments so they simply left!
We the People, throughout this nation, must do the same sort of thing with all of our elected “representatives.” We must seek opportunities to make it clear to them that we understand their game plan and won’t tolerate it!
I believe our nation’s is greatly benefited by the rich diversity of our people which is why I could never imagine living anywhere except New York City, arguably the most diverse city in our nation if not, in fact, the world. However, my idea of diversity most certainly does not include members of MS-13, the Mexican drug cartels and members of al-Qaeda!
If reading this makes it difficult for you to sleep now – perhaps you could do something worthwhile- perhaps you might spend a couple of your sleepless hours writing letters to your elected representatives this evening and remind them that Election Day is just months away! If our country is to survive and if our children and their children are to get their share of the “American Dream” the citizens of this nation must take their citizenship seriously!
We the People must be the best citizens we can be, citizens who are worthy of the gallantry demonstrated by our valiant men and women in the military, law enforcement and firefighters, who routinely go in harm’s way in defense of this nation and our citizens.
