I have little use for Hollywood or most associated with it, but actor Kevin Costner has spent years and $20 million of his own money to develope a centrifuge that will separate oil from water that would have tremendous potential to deal with oil spills. This link shows Costner explaining his up hill battle to interest the government and the oil industry in this important innovation.
Costner says the Gulf oil spill disaster has to be treated like a war and all logisitical resources have to be brought to bear. Amazing that a Hollywood movie star understands what appears to be beyond the grasp of our Harvard educated, affirmative action President, who refused offers of help from 15 other countries that offered equipment and assistance immediately after the Gulf oil spill.
